Technical service Representative supporting ESAB CNC products, primary focus to be plasma cutting systems. 

Immediate Performance Objectives

  • Gain a command of the technical issues involved in supporting ESAB equipment
  • Become efficient in use of SAP tools
  • Resolve customer problems by the most efficient and cost effective means

The Big-Picture/Strategic Deliverables

  • Work with other members of the Technical Service Team to deliver world class support to end user customers, distributors and internal company customers

Primary Responsibilities

  • Provide telephone, fax and email technical support and troubleshooting of automated cutting equipment and CNC product lines
  • Conduct service and repair training sessions as required
  • Provide input to design and engineering process
  • Project a positive, professional image as a Company representative
  • Follow ISO standards and policies
  • Respond to technical inquiries from internal company personnel and external customers
  • Assist in the development and presentation of training programs for internal and external customers

Language Capabilities

  • Spanish or French language will be a significant advantage
  • Excellent writing skills desired. 30% of workload will be e-mail driven

Education Requirements

  • Technical education or experience equivalent to 2 years Electrical Engineering. The product focus will involve computer programming skills
  • Read and write English at college level

Technical Requirements

  • Ability to work with electrical diagrams and written troubleshooting instructions
  • Ability to learn welding and cutting processes

Experience Requirements

  • Welding experience desired
  • Customer service experience desired

Mobility & Travel Requirements

  • Occasional travel for training and customer assistance

Work Environment

While performing the primary duties of the job, the employee is regularly exposed to general office and manufacturing plant environments. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, printers and photocopiers, small products and parts. This is a full-time position, however, work outside normal business hours may occur.
