Position Summary: Positively impact the repeatability and reproducibility of machined and assembled products and champion root cause analysis (RCA), Preventive Actions (PA) and Corrective Actions (CA) to improve processes, procedures and control the cost of quality and minimize scrap.



  • Bachelor's degree and 3 years' experience in a manufacturing arena, or a minimum of an Associate's Degree with 10+ years required.
  • High volume machine shop manufacturing background preferred. Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), or Certified Quality Auditor (CQA) by the American Society for Quality (ASQ) is highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication and computer skills. Highly proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Power Point. Experience with statistical software such as Statistica or Minitab a plus.
  • Experience in ISO 13485 strongly desired



  • Conduct and lead MRB activities for assigned product groups. Conduct root analysis and determine disposition actions, corrective and submit Application for Concession (AFC) if required.
  • Qualify new and existing parts (first article requirements, inspection methods, inspection equipment, procedures, work instructions, corrective action requests, control plans, supplier development, etc.) and monitor ongoing quality performance of assigned parts.
  • Conduct investigative work to solve quality problems as assigned. Conduct studies to develop and implement advanced quality planning, inspection methods, gauging methods, inspection and sampling methods, control plans, etc. to assure control of cost of quality.  
  • Champion effective cost control and scrap reduction using advanced quality tools.
  • Work closely with Purchasing, Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, and Inspection personnel on problems associated with control of product quality and nonconforming material.
  • Devise methods for identifying and reporting nonconforming material as well as effective corrective action plans, and effective follow-up review.
  • Oversee improvement, preventive, and corrective action projects associated with repeat nonconformities. Assist in developing, training, and administering new methods of inspection and control procedures, PFMEA 
  • Serve as Auditor for random and scheduled internal audits. Develop audit plans, document findings and submit corrective action requests (CAR) from results.
  • Complete 8D's for external/internal corrective actions as required. Perform other duties as directed by quality management.
  • High volume, machine shop manufacturing background preferred with an emphasis on Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma understanding.

Work Environment:

While performing the primary duties of the job, the employee is regularly exposed to general office and manufacturing plant environments. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, printers and photocopiers, small products and parts. This is a full-time position, however, work outside normal business hours may occur.
