This position will require a hands-on, energetic leader with the initiative and drive to produce results and desire to promote to the next level. Direct the activities of the manufacturing departments in an efficient manner for the desired quality and quantity of work.  They will supervise the activities of the assigned personnel and direct employees with respect to safety, quality, delivery, inventory, cost and efficiency. Confer with the Production Manager and Planners to establish working schedules for all departments connected with production and will be responsible for meeting established schedules.  They will drive continuous improvement in areas of responsibility and act as a change agent for their departments. Maintain adherence to company policies, safety standards, as well as good housekeeping and good machining and assembly practices. 


  • Plans production operations establishing priorities and sequences for manufacturing products.
  • Adheres to production schedules and coordinates manufacturing activities to ensure product and process quality of products meet specifications.
  • Assure that machinery, equipment, and facilities are properly maintained for efficient production. 
  • Utilize resources within the areas of responsibility to best complete the activities required. 
  • Drive the continuous improvement of processes and practices in order to increase efficiency and decrease costs.
  • Maintain spend at or below budget and manage to sales volumes.
  • Arrange to have appropriate production records prepared and maintained. 
  • Keep records of departmental activities, as required. 
  • Resolves operational, manufacturing and maintenance issues to ensure minimum costs and prevent manufacturing delays.
  • Ensures equipment is at operational performance and optimal utilization
  • Develops and revises standard work and/or work instructions per ISO 9001 and/or 13485, and observes workers to ensure compliance.
  • Perform training for Safety, Quality, and Work Processes.
  • Ability to spend extended time on the shop floor solving problems and putting improvements into practice.
  • Perform other duties as required or directed.

Required Skills:

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a leadership role in a manufacturing environment.
  • Established experience leading complex assembly operations.
  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent computer skills in MS Office product suite (Excel, Word, Pwr Point).
  • Be able to provide evidence of accomplishments in leading continuous improvement efforts utilizing lean manufacturing principles.
  • Working knowledge of lean manufacturing techniques (Kaizen, 5S, Kanban, One-piece Flow, etc....)
  • Superior teamwork and leadership skills.
  • Effective planning and organizational skills.
  • Creative problem solving.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks and assignments simultaneously.
  • Strong focus on Safety, Quality, and Delivery within the specified order.
  • Ability to commit adequate hours on-site to complete the required tasks to meet specified timelines.

Preferred Skills:

  • Associate or Bachelor of Science degree
  • Certified Six-Sigma Green Belt or the ability to gain certification within one year of hire.


Work Environment:

While performing the primary duties of the job, the employee is regularly exposed to distribution center and manufacturing plant environments. This role routinely uses standard manufacturing equipment such as various forklifts, RF guns and scanners, as well as office equipment such as computers. This is a full-time position, however, work outside normal business hours may occur.
