Position Summary:

Directs and coordinates activities of Manufacturing Engineering and Quality Assurance department in the review and improvement of process design for the manufacture of products.



  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering discipline Mechanical Engineering preferred; Five years of engineering management experience in a high volume manufacturing environment
  • Ability to analyze and resolve production issues, scheduling and implementation of manufacturing initiatives
  • Lean Manufacturing expertise required.  Ability to teach system required
  • Good communication skills
  • Leadership skills and decision-making skills
  • Excellent product knowledge preferred
  • Pro-E skills preferred
  • Good knowledge of value streams, TPM, pull systems and flow production required
  • Experience in ISO 9001 required
  • Experience with FDA standards/regulations preferred
  • Proven track record of driving continuous improvement programs and projects within a quality organization. Experience in facilitating Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA) and risk analysis a big plus.
  • Experience in high volume metal machining and/or low volume/high mix assembly a plus
  • Expertise in root cause analysis and corrective action implementation. Experience with 8D or similar methodology a plus.
  • Working knowledge and experience in Statistical Process Control (SPC) systems and application
  • Experience with Internal Auditing and facilitating Management Reviews. ASQ CQA, CMQ/OE, or CQE a plus.





  • Establishes priorities and sequences for the design of improved manufacturing processes
  • Coordinates manufacturing activities to ensure production costs and quality of products meet specifications
  • Resolves manufacturing engineering issues to ensure minimum costs and prevent manufacturing delays
  • Ensures equipment is at operational performance and optimal utilization
  • Develops and revises standards and work instructions per ISO 9001 
  • Plans and implements methods to produce continuous production improvements
  • Managerial responsibility to prepare budgets
  • Prepare reports on potential production opportunities
  • Review and recommend equipment development or purchase to improve manufacturing processes
  • Oversee the design and implementation of improved plant layouts and/or workflows
  • Ensure all processes for department meet ISO requirements
  • Develop and maintain value stream maps
  • Lead Root Cause Analysis and 8D teams, and provide documented feedback to customers as required.
  • Ensure all processes in area comply with ISO 9001 and regulatory requirements
  • Assist in product liability cases as requested
  • Develop the annual Internal Audit and Management Review schedule and serve as the local representative for all inter-company internal audits and 3rd Party compliance audits, including CSA and ETL quarterly audits, FDA Inspections, and customer audits.
  • Support the Company's Global Quality Assurance Programs
  • Manage the Quality organization staff of Quality Engineers and Quality Technicians and their daily activities, and administer annual performance reviews.
  • Develop and facilitate quality assurance related training for production and management personnel
  • Manage the Quality KPIs for the Denton facility, including action items for improvement.
  • Manage the MRB process for Denton Manufacturing

  • Contribute to production improvement projects

Work Environment:

While performing the primary duties of the job, the employee is regularly exposed to distribution center and manufacturing plant environments. This role routinely uses standard manufacturing equipment such as various forklifts, RF guns and scanners, as well as office equipment such as computers. This is a full-time position, however, work outside normal business hours may occur.
