Position Summary:

The Manufacturing production planner requires someone that is customer focused and capable of managing many tasks simultaneously with frequent interruptions. The manufacturing production planner must make sure that all products are in stock or produced to appropriate lead time. The planner also keeps up with demand, forecasts other company needs, and ensures the company is ready to ship product at all times. 



  • JDEdwards and/or SAP knowledge preferred
  • MRP knowledge and experience required
  • College degree strongly preferred
  • Five (5) years of related high volume manufacturing planning experience in a Lean Manufacturing environment required
  • Experience creating and managing complex manufacturing process schedules
  • Experience managing Kanban and Pull Systems required
  • Exposure to and training in Lean concepts
  • Understanding of the importance of material flow
  • Must be detailed oriented
  • Must be able to work in a fast pace environment
  • Have good communication skills
  • Excellent analytical and decision-making skills
  • Proficient in MS Excel and general computer skills
  • Excellent understanding of experience utilizing MRP
  • Experience using and applying Lean Manufacturing principles



  • Schedules the production of parts and assemblies as assigned
  • Is responsible for developing and executing the detail schedule for the manufacture of products
  • After the manufacturing process has started, planner has to work with production to ensure that the proper schedule is being adhered to and product is completed on time
  • Review, analyze and answer MRP messages
  • Launch work orders based on production requirements
  • Check availability of raw materials/components prior to issuance of work order and expedite as needed
  • Maintain Kanban levels, Reorder Points, Safety Stocks, etc...
  • Obtain manufacturing deviation if necessary
  • Analyze capacity constraints and propose resolutions
  • Coordinate with Customer Service regarding promise dates to customers
  • Work with Manufacturing and other Planners to reduce backlog, increase efficiencies, decrease inventory, etc...
  • Follow regulatory agency (FDA, UL or ISO) standards or policies

Work Environment:

While performing the primary duties of the job, the employee is regularly exposed to general office and manufacturing plant environments. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, printers and photocopiers, small products and parts. This is a full-time position, however, work outside normal business hours may occur.
